How to Use Custom Pet Stickers on WhatsApp
Open the sticker tray in a WhatsApp chat and create a sticker from a saved pet image. Once it’s in WhatsApp, you can add it to a named pack and share the pack in a chat.
Go to the steps ↓Create a sticker in a chat
- Open an individual or group chat, then open the sticker tray near the message field. On Android, look inside the emoji panel. On iPhone, start with the sticker icon.
- Tap Create and pick your saved image. Depending on the version, the photo picker may be under Recents and then Photos.
- Preview the result before sending. If the outline clips an ear or a tail, try another preview or start with an image that has more room around the pet.
If Create or pack controls are missing, update WhatsApp in your phone’s app store and recheck the sticker tray. The official Help Center has separate Android and iOS tabs.
Organize and share a pack
- Press and hold a sticker in the tray, or tap one in the conversation. Choose Add to sticker pack.
- Pick a pack you already use, or select New, give it a name, and save. Add your other pet reactions the same way.
- To share a finished pack, open the chat where it should go. In the sticker tray, use the pack’s more-options menu and choose Send.
Check files if you’re importing prepared stickers
WhatsApp lists these limits for static sticker imports. The in-app Create flow starts with an image from your phone. Saving a PNG by itself leaves it in your photo library or files.
- Canvas
- 512 × 512 pixels
- File size
- Up to 100 KB per static sticker
- Pack
- Up to 30 stickers, all static
For an external import workflow, check its format too. WhatsApp’s sample sticker app uses WebP. A PNG may need resizing or conversion for that route. Pad the artwork to a square instead of stretching the pet.
